Milling vs Machining

Here at Ashgarth Engineering, we are experts in the field of CNC milling and machining… but what is the difference between the two? In this blog, we will be discussing the main differences between these two processes in a battle of milling vs machining.

Machining

A CNC machining centre is controlled by a CNC controller. It also has an automatic tool-changing device which can improve the machining efficiency. This feature is the biggest difference between machining and milling.

Milling

There are many different types of milling machines. Based on the degree of automation, they can be divided into manual milling machines and CNC milling machines. They all have the same functions of milling, drilling and tapping but with varying levels of cost, efficiency and accuracy.
